Latest Updates from Our Project:

A Brief Message from Jason MacDonald (Video with Transcript)
over 3 years ago – Sun, Dec 13, 2020 at 04:04:47 PM

Hello everyone!

This update isn't the usual mid-month check-in - we're still a few days off from that. But, as the holiday season is in full swing and one of the craziest years any of us can remember is drawing to a close, there's a lot going on and Jason wanted to take a moment to reach out to our backers to keep you in the loop with a brief video message:

Transcript:

Jason MacDonald:

Kickstarter backers! I wanted to make this quick video and update all of you, our most valued customers, on what's going on at Wyrmwood right now. For those of you who might not be familiar, my name is Jason, i'm actually the lead designer at Wyrmwood and in charge of most of the designs that you have backed for, which we really appreciate and is awesome!

Kickstarters are going great, I want to start with that; the Dice Kickstarter, we're fulfilling December right now, Corrupted Collection number one, we're actually in pre-orders and fulfilling those [re-booting in January]. Modular Gaming Tables, it's going great, it's a huge project, it has transformed Wyrmwood up until this point, but we're actually getting into production on that, rather than pre-production, which is very exciting, and we see no reason why we aren't going to be hitting that accelerated pledge schedule that we had laid out.

But really, I wanted to talk about the fact that I'm actually stepping up as CEO of Wyrmwood, which is really exciting for me, and really exciting for the whole team. Doug, the old CEO, is not leaving the company. He's still with us, he's focusing on some other stuff, some growth, some different projects, and that's really where he shines. The Modular Gaming Table transformed the company so much that we need to shuffle things around, try some new stuff out, and that's how I landed in the position. I'm an owner of the company, I've been here for 3 and a half, 4 years now, and I personally am super excited to bring the company forward and keep growing it - with the support of backers like yourselves.

And I just want to say thank you, personally, for always supporting us, for always having enthusiasm for the things we do, keeping US enthused about the things that we do. And I'm really excited to go forward, and I hope all of you come along with us for the ride, because... it's probably gonna be pretty crazy! [laughs]

Alright, that's all I got, but again, thank you, and we look forward to the future.

End.

Fulfillment

We'll be back on the 15th to let you know how December is looking. From where we are now, things seem solid - or as solid as can be expected for our busiest, most high-pressure shipping month of the year. As you're aware, we were a bit behind on November on a handful of orders. There was a mix of factors involved - waiting on manufacturer supply in some cases, unanticipated trouble with production of some of our collaboration Vaults on others. But we're pushing ahead and December fulfillment should at least be on par with November, if not better.

Thank you for your support - we'll be back with more info soon.

End of November Fulfillment Update
over 3 years ago – Tue, Dec 01, 2020 at 09:20:14 PM

Hey everyone,

November has come to an end, so it's time to check in and see how we did this month. As a reminder, we'll be sending out updates on all projects twice each month - once on the 1st, and again on the 15th. This will keep you appraised of how fulfillment is going, without cluttering up your inbox too much. Without further ado, let's take a look.

November Fulfillment

So, the big question: did we get everything out? Regrettably, no. We fell a bit short this month, unfortunately, by about 140 orders that remain to be shipped. What's missing? A handful of scattered, specific dice, which we're due soon, as well as some Vaults on our end - largely Katalox Vaults for the Savage & Quinn design. We've worked with Katalox in the past, and it can be difficult. So we've had to revise things a bit for that. While we would have loved to have reported 100% completion today, we do feel optimistic that we'll catch back up, now that things are running smoothly (the first waves are always a bit harder than you think). And, given the scale of this campaign, things are running quite well, with over 2,000 orders shipped in the last few weeks. We'll work to get these remaining 140 orders out as soon as possible, as we begin on the December waves. For those of you that have received your dice, we hope you're loving them!

Wyrmwood Kickstarter Policy

In keeping with our policy, we will be issuing WyrmwoodGaming.com Gyft Certificates to all backers with orders shipping out later than the last day of their projected fulfillment month. So, those 140 orders will all include a $25 WyrmwoodGaming.com Gyft Certificate (provided they are filled out completely, and were not unable to be shipped due to us waiting for a response). We hate missing deadlines, and getting things later than expected is no fun, so we hope this helps a little bit.

Forging Ahead

Well, we hope this finds you well. We'll keep at it to get the remaining dice pledges for November out along with the December waves. We do expect to catch up, and we'll check in on the 15th to let you know how things are proceeding. In the meantime - though it's maybe hard to believe - the holidays are in full swing, and as it's now December, it won't be long before Christmas is here. As usual, we've got some promotions in effect, for those looking for a gift for a loved one, buddy, or themselves. A recent Wyrm Lyfe episode ran down everything we have going on:

Black Friday has come and gone, but there are still plenty of great items and offers up... while they last. So, as always, if you're looking for something to fill out that stocking... you know where to find us.

Until next time, thank you for your support throughout this very difficult and challenging year. We're excited to keep rolling on fulfillment, and keep YOU rolling, too. :) Stay warm, stay safe, and we'll be in touch soon!

Mid-November Fulfillment Update
over 3 years ago – Sun, Nov 15, 2020 at 11:45:12 PM

Hello everyone!

As we settle into fulfillment, we'll be keeping you up to date with twice-monthly status updates, on every 1st and 15th of the month, for as long as fulfillment is active. Let's dive in and see how it's going.

Fulfillment Status

We're making steady progress this month. There have been some later-than-expected arrivals from our suppliers, and some of the typical issues you run into with a production of this size. However, as of now we've shipped around 45% of the orders for the first month. In terms of inventory, we've received more than 90% of what we need for November - and about 90% of what we need for December is already in, as well. The rest is due any day now, so we don't anticipate any late shipments for the first wave of pledges, which is great news!

We'll keep you appraised of any issues, but for now, just keep an eye out, you should receive a shipping notification as your order ships out. On the 1st, we'll be back with another update on both how November went and how we're poised for December.

Wyrm Lyfe

We're barreling towards the end of 2020 with alarming speed. How does one year feel simultaneously like a decade and a month? Well, regardless, we'll keep documenting it with our twice-weekly vlog, Wyrm Lyfe. New episodes drop every Wednesday and Friday, and if you subscribe and join us to watch the premiere, you can view it first with no ads! This week, we check out some new machines and talk about the impending holidays. Check it out here:

Thank you for your support, and we hope you're enjoying the dice as they make their way out to you at last. We love sending so many sets out to game tables around the world, and we hope that all of us can be safely back at them soon, and for many great years to come.

Fulfillment has Begun!
over 3 years ago – Sun, Nov 01, 2020 at 08:08:35 PM

Hello backers! First, let's get this out of the way right now:

We've begun shipping!

The first orders from the November tier have been shipped, and at this point we are moving forward at a decent clip. We're continuously receiving stock to finish up the last loose ends for the month, and our suppliers are already getting December squared away. We've had some issues owing to the complexity of the project, but we're in good shape.

Challenges and Lessons

This project definitely has been a learning experience in several ways. While we've gradually scaled up our company over the years, nothing really prepared us for the leap we would need to take for this project. Specifically, the leaps our inventory and shipping departments needed to take. It's one thing to stock 8 different woods across several different SKUs. It's quite another to stock 40 or so different materials of dice across 6 SKUs each. Many of which can easily be confused with one another.

In addition, shipping - the packaging of fragile, high value items needs to be carefully considered, but also staying organized. If we pull 25 orders onto a cart, how do we make sure each order is sorted properly and nothing is misplaced?

We've found answers for all of this, which is why shipping is only starting now, and not several weeks ago. But taking the time to iron out these details will pay huge dividends during the rest of fulfillment, and we definitely believe it will be a worthwhile investment.

Halloween

We hope you all had a fantastic Halloween! Obviously there's a lot less going on than usual - parties and trick-or-treating aren't quite what they used to be - but it's still fun to get into the spirit of things, and we hope you found some fun in that. We sure did - our Halloween Kickstarter wrapped up last night, and was a rousing success. If you missed it, you can still check out the page above, or go directly here for pre-orders of our Coffin Vaults, Coffin Trays, Art Trays, Art Prints and more!

Wyrm Lyfe

Well, here at Wyrmwood, as you might have noticed from that last section... we like Halloween! On Wyrm Lyfe this Friday, we took a look at costumes around the shop, some of which were a bit... unorthodox. We also got a little behind the scenes look at some of the other Halloween shenanigans we'd gotten up to. Check it out below, and don't forget to subscribe for more every Wednesday and Friday!

That's it for this time - we'll be in touch in a couple of weeks to let you know how fulfillment is proceeding!
